Police have taped off a building complex in a notorious area of Vernon Saturday morning after multiple gunshots were reportedly fired into a home.
Neighbours say gunshots rang out in the 3700 block of 24 Avenue at about 2 a.m.
While police are staying tight-lipped about their investigation, they have taped off the complex at 3711 24 Avenue.
A ground-floor window, with what appears to be two bullet holes, has been marked by police.
Multiple yellow evidence markers, currently up to 18, have been placed around the snowy property.
It is currently unknown if anyone was injured in the incident.
A neighbour in the area says he's seen the neighbourhood deteriorate in the three years he's lived there.
“I think a lot of it is drug related,” he said, adding he has had his car stolen on the block.
