Super Shanda powers on

Vernon-based super athlete Shanda Hill wrapped up a 38 km swim early Monday morning during her latest competition – the Deca Ultra Triathlon in Leon, Mexico.

Hill accomplished the swim in 2.5 hours less than her time at the Swiss Deca Ultratriathlon Continuous at which she competed in August.

Still left to go are an 1,800 km bike ride and a 422 km run.

Hill competes in the toughest races in the world.

Recently, she completed the Triple Anvil race in Virginia, which featured a 12 kilometre swim, 540 kilometre bike ride and 126 kilometre run. She finished the race in an astounding 55:22:31. Last year, Hill finished first among women and fifth overall in Virginia's Quintuple Anvil.
