A Coldstream family visited a homeless camp in Vernon and handed out 50 brown bag lunches for Thanksgiving.
Danielle Scott, her two children and a friend travelled to Linear Park to deliver the bags of goodies and said they were nothing but polite and thankful for the food.
“Everyone deserves food in their belly and to know that someone cares,” Scott said. “A great lesson for my kids as well.”
Friends of the family helped donate food and money to make the meals and Scott said Davison Orchard Country Village donated a box of apples.
“We went home with hearts full today just by spending a little time and money to do a nice thing,” she said.
Scott said they never once felt threatened walking down to the camp and they received nothing but thanks and gratitude from the people they spoke to.
