Hey kids, make some noise

Hey you kids, stop sitting there, get up and make some noise.

The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society is launching its 'No Shushing Season' where kids are encouraged to dance and sing all they want.

Officially known as the First Stages’ Series, parents are encouraged to let their little ones dance, sing, and chat along with the performers without the usual stresses of keeping quiet in theatre seats.

The society will be putting on two shows where kids can be kids.

Cheer for libraries, rally for vegetables and do a whole lot of dancing with Will Stroet and his Backyard Band as he promotes literacy, imagination, and an active lifestyle on Oct. 22.

With fun and easy-to-learn actions and sing-along choruses, this show gets kids interacting and excited about music and learning.

Bringing his new album “Wordplay” to the stage, the whole family will be singing along to funny puns, spoonerisms, anagrams, palindromes, rap and poetry.

The on April 15 The Kerplunks take centre stage.

The Kerplunks, an award-winning Canadian group of children’s entertainers, bring high quality musicality and creativity together for an enjoyable educational experience.

Bringing to Vernon their fourth studio album, Pants & Mammals, The Kerplunks make everyday items and ideas fun.

Subscriptions for the Society’s 2017/18 ‘First Stages’ Series are on sale now. Subscriptions cost only $20 for two shows. Single tickets are also on sale now.

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling the Ticket Seller at 250-549-SHOW (7469) for more information.
