Raising funds for Kindale

After suffering damage from spring flooding at two of its locations in Armstrong, it's time to raise money for the Kindale Developmental Association.

Kindale, Lake City Casino and Match Eatery & Public House in Vernon are inviting the public to their 5th annual charity BBQ on Sunday, Sept. 17th from 12 to 3 p.m.

Over the past four years, the Vernon-based casino has raised almost $30,000 for Kindale from the annual BBQ.

Lake City's general manager Ryan Doherty said the casino was proud of its efforts, “together with our staff and customers knowing that it is helping make a difference in the lives of people with diverse abilities.”

“Since the devastating flooding in Armstrong and with two locations still closed, Kindale is very grateful to Lake City Casino,” said Benita Elliott, Kindale's executive director.

At the grill will be the culinary team from Match. A minimum donation of $10 will also get you $5 in free slot play for those aged 19 and older.

“It is going to be an absolutely amazing afternoon and we are so happy that the amazing Shawn Lightfoot will be again providing live entertainment," said Cindy Masters, development officer for Kindale which works with people who have mental and physical challenges.
