Lots of road work going on

As the busy tourist season reaches a crescendo, motorists might want to plan alternate routes as city crews will be digging up several streets over the coming weeks.

Several projects are expected to create some traffic disruptions.

• 30 Street road and utility project – 30 Street is closed from 30 Avenue to 32 Avenue and is scheduled to open in late August.
• 35 Street road and utility project – 35 Street is closed from 28 Avenue to 30 Avenue for road and utility upgrades. Construction will take place until late September.
• 35 Avenue road and utility project – 35 Avenue is closed from 24 Street to 27 Street for road and utility upgrades. Construction will take place until mid-September.
• Kalamalka Lake road improvements project –Two-way traffic on Kalamalka Lake Road will be maintained with intermittent periods of single lane alternating traffic. The intersection of Kalamalka Lake Road and 11 Avenue is open to traffic in all directions. Please respect the 30 kilometres/hour construction zone speed limit.

All businesses in the area will remain open and can be accessed. Detour routes will be modified as construction progresses.
