Child approached by man

Armstrong RCMP are looking for a man driving a white pick-up truck who offered an Armstrong child a ride last Thursday.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday April 6, Armstrong-North Okanagan RCMP received a report of a suspicious occurrence involving a young boy being offered a ride.

Police said the boy was walking home on Rosedale Avenue at Colony Street just after 2:10 p.m., when a white truck stopped and the male driver asked "Hey kid, want a ride home?"

The boy declined and the male driver started yelling at the boy who immediately ran away. The vehicle then drove off.

According to the boy, the vehicle was a two-door white truck, possible a Dodge, without a truck cap, with B.C. licence plates and heavier bumpers.

The driver was described as a male with long hair who "dressed like a cowboy or farmer" due to the brown vest he was wearing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Armstrong North Okanagan RCMP at 250-546-3028 or via Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
