Mackenzie Pfoh to join two CMF teammates at UBCO next season

KELOWNA, BC -- Mackenzie Pfoh will join her current CMF teammates Kathleen Deady and Erica Reis as a member of the UBC Okanagan Heat women's soccer team next season.

Pfoh is a 5'4" striker from Port Moody, who began her playing career in 2004. Her first four years were played with the Port Moody Soccer Association, and then she joined the Port Moody Metro where she spent the next four years, earning a tournament MVP with her u13 squad. In 2014 she joined Coquitlam Metro Ford, where she has played since, and earned another MVP award at the Whitecaps Showcase Tournament as part of her u15 side.

At Heritage Woods Secondary School, Pfoh has been a multi-talented student-athlete. Along with soccer she has also been on the school's basketball, volleyball, and ski teams. Mackenzie is also an accomplished softball player, and has played in three provincial tournaments with her rep team, earning a silver medal in 2016.

"UBCO has always been my top choice to complete my post-secondary education," said Pfoh. "I'm thrilled to be joining the close knit community that UBCO has to offer, starting my first year of university with a team of girls to ask questions and discuss any problems with is so amazing...I am looking forward to being a part of a team of such talented players and I hope my addition to the team helps them with their ongoing success."

"We saw 'Mac' at our Winter ID camp in Surrey," commented Heat coaches: assistant Carli Tingstad and head coach Craig Smith, Pfoh's new coaching staff, "and we are delighted that she has decided to join our program."

About the educational side of coming to the Kelowna campus, Mackenzie said "I am applying to the Arts faculty for my first year at UBCO and hope to transfer to the Management program in my second year. I am intrigued by modern-day marketing strategies and hope to have a future career in the business management field."

Pfoh is one of the three players from CMF Football Club set on joining UBCO, Kathleen Deady (Defender), and Erica Reis (Midfielder), are the other two. Two also are signed from the TSS Football Club, Kacee Ougden (Central midfielder) and Jillian Hunt (Centre-back), and a PACWEST transfer in Anastazia Ziros (Defender) make up the six recruits that have signed on to join the Heat next fall.

The UBC Okanagan Heat women's soccer schedule will be released on Wednesday, June 14.
