The Heat will continue their Cougar themed road trip this weekend when they travel to Regina. This weekend's matches against the Cougars the first serve on Friday (Nov. 25) is 4 p.m. PST and then 3 p.m. PST on Saturday (Nov. 26).

This week for the Heat: This week marks the second to last weekend before winter break commences for the Heat women’s volleyball team. Coming off of their first weekend of games on the road, the Heat will continue to travel as they will head to Regina to play the U of R. The two squads will open the weekend on Friday (Nov. 25) with a game that will begin at 4 p.m. The second game between the two teams will be played Saturday (Nov. 19) with a start time of  3 p.m. Both the games will take place at CHKS in Regina.

Current Form: With five straight wins under their belt, the Heat suffered their first loss of the season to the Mount Royal Cougars this past weekend.  Going into a fifth set, for the first time this season the Heat were unable to outmatch the Cougars and lost in the deciding set (3-2). Now with a record of (5-1) the Heat are tied with UBC, Trinity Western, and Calgary for the second place in Canada West. As they head on the road for the second time this season UBCO will be looking to improve their standing as they head to Regina.

Key Players: Senior Megan Festival is continuing to lead the way for the Heat with a total of 62 kills, 64 digs, and 18 service aces so far this season. With an impressive swing from the service line, Festival has now earned the third place spot in U-Sports for service aces. Following Festival is  Siobhan Fitzpatrick who earned 23 kills in the double header against the Cougars, giving her 73 kills so far this season.

Team Stat: With both Megan Festival and Emily Oxland set to become the career leader in services aces its no wonder UBCO is strong from the service line averaging 2.30 aces/set, 8th in the country. As a highly skilled and strong team the Heat are now averaging 12.92 kills per set, putting them first in U-Sports for that category. With a highly skilled team on the attack line, the Regina Cougars will have to be prepared to play strong defence.

Overall Head to Head vs Regina:  The Heat currently lead (6-4) against the Cougars and have not lost since February of 2014 to the Saskatchewan squad.

Cougars: On Friday the Heat will play the Regina Cougars, last in the Canada West division, the Cougars have yet to notch a win this season and will be looking to compete against the Heat as they will defend their home court against the Okanagan squad this upcoming weekend.

Current Form: The Cougars are coming off of a Friday night (3-0) loss and a  Saturday (3-0) loss against the University of Saskatchewan. With the losses the Cougars now hold a record of (0-6) and will be looking for their first win against the Okanagan squad since February 2014.

Key Players: Ashlee Sandiford is leading the way for the Cougars with 39 kills, and 24 digs. Jenna Krahne is another player producing for the Cougars. With a of 38 kills, 40 digs, and four service aces, Krahne is a well rounded outside hitter.

Team Stat: The Cougars have a strong defensive line and are averaging 2.32 blocks per set.  As the seventh ranked team in that category in U-Sports, the Heat will have to be prepared outmatch the Cougars offensively.
