Aesthetic Nation gym moving into former Urban Distillery location

Aesthetic Nation finds home

The cat’s out of the bag.

Aesthetic Nation co-owner Brian Mark has revealed the new location of his gym.

“It’s long awaited, and we’re grateful for your patience,” Mark says. “We’ve officially locked in our new location, which will be the Urban Distillery building off of the highway on the Westside.”

Three weeks ago the gym was forced to shut down its previous home, and immediately the owners got to work on securing a new location.

“Unfortunately we couldn’t go any faster than the lawyers let us,” co-owner Cole DaSilva says. “We just had to be patient and put in the work behind the scenes.”

There was controversy surrounding the closure of the gym, but based on its social media, the opinion has been extremely positive.

“We’ve received hundreds of DMs from our members stating that they can’t wait for our gym to be re-open again, and we’re taking those DMs and using them as fuel to work hard to get the gym open as soon as possible,” DaSilva says.

There’s still work to be done, though. The new building at 4-1979 Old Okanagan Highway in West Kelowna, requires some work to the interior.

The building was originally home to Sears, and then the leasehold has been Urban Distillery for the past few years.

It’s built for a brewery, so the owners at Aesthetic Nation gym say that they’ll be building change rooms, installing showers, painting the entire interior of the building alongside getting the flooring done in the entire gym.

“It’s going to be a lot of work,” Mark says. “But we’re committed to getting this gym open as soon as humanly possible.”

The official opening of the new spot is Sept. 1.

“That’s the goal, anyway,” Mark says. “We obviously are going to have to work at the pace that our contractors are willing to work, but we’re going to be working as hard as we possibly can to get the gym open by September first.”

Mark and DaSilva assured there will be a grand opening, and there will be specials on memberships for the opening days to say thank you to the community for all of the love and support.
