WorkBC funding health-care assistant program at First College, limited spots available

WorkBC funds education

First College received funding provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada-British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement for the health care assistant (HCA) program, with 20 available seats in each program.

The eight-month health-care assistant program offered at First College enables the students to develop the essential skills to function as frontline caregivers of the health-care team.

After the completion of the program, graduates will receive their diplomas and start to work right away in our local community.

To assist in rebuilding the lives of individuals who have been affected by COVID-19, the WorkBC Community Workforce Response Grant has been approved for the February 2023 HCA cohort, allowing students to study and explore a new career path without having to worry about their financial resources. The HCA program will take place from Feb. 13, 2023, to Sept. 18, 2023, featuring a three-day-per-week course load from Monday to Wednesday. First College is located in Kelowna at 532 Leon Ave. on the second floor.

Limited seats are available. If you would like to make an application or know more detailed information about this funded HCA program, visit the First College website at firstcollege.ca, or contact the Student Service Department at (778) 478-6611 or [email protected] as soon as possible.
