Fresh Dental Hygiene uses ZOOM to whiten your smile quickly

Unmask your brightest smile

The masks are coming off, and that means it’s a great time to freshen up your smile.

The good news is Kelowna’s Fresh Dental Hygiene has the technology to make whitening your teeth a quick, comfortable and effective process. Fresh Dental Hygiene uses the ZOOM whitening system, which can whiten teeth up to eight shades in just one hour.

Some of the reasons teeth appear darker can include aging, eating and drinking staining foods and beverages, tobacco use, medication side effects, trauma, gum recession and tartar buildup.

Depending on the origin of the staining, ZOOM teeth whitening is efficient in penetrating the enamel and rendering the stain bonds colourless.

Fresh Dental Hygiene offers two options when it comes to ZOOM teeth whitening. The first is an in-office treatment, which takes about an hour and accelerates the whitening process.

“We can achieve in one hour what we usually would achieve with the at home kits in about two weeks,” Fresh Dental Hygiene owner Joanna Bernath says.

The second option of the take home kit achieves similar results to the in-office treatment but requires a daily commitment for two to three weeks. It features custom trays that need to be worn for 30 minutes a day or overnight if patients prefer.

The one-hour ZOOM treatment is offered at $375 and includes a custom take home maintenance kit, making it one of the most affordable options of its kind in the Central Okanagan.

Although whitening may be known to cause tooth sensitivity, the ZOOM treatment eliminates discomfort for the most part. The inclusion of amorphous calcium phosphate in the whitening formula creates a protective barrier that shields the teeth from sensitivity during whitening.

It is important to have an oral health assessment to rule out any active decay or periodontal disease prior to committing to a whitening treatment, as well as having your teeth cleaned to ensure tartar buildup is removed and gums are healthy.

“As much as a brighter smile can boost your confidence, our main goal is to promote oral health and overall health,” Bernath says.

Fresh is Kelowna’s only private dental hygiene practice, and Bernath’s aim as a dental hygiene practitioner is to make her clients feel as relaxed as possible while delivering the highest standard of preventive dental care. Fresh specializes in teeth cleaning and whitening without a dentist on site, and the space is free of traditional dental scents and sounds, making it very comforting for those who are anxious about the atmosphere of conventional dental offices.
