Brown Mechanical, an Okanagan fixture, searching for technicians

Brown looks for technicians

Brown Mechanical has been an integral part of the Okanagan since 1984, establishing itself as one of the premier plumbing and heating businesses in the valley.

And the organization is now being led by someone who is one of the more prominent names on the industry’s local scene. Troy Lehr, who has guided other plumbing and heating brands to plenty of success over the years, is now at the helm of Brown Mechanical as its new general manager.

“Troy is the exact sort of leadership The Dahl Group of Companies is searching for—leadership based on integrity, quality and customer satisfaction,” Dahl Group of Companies CEO Sherman Dahl says.

Lehr says his long-term goal is to grow Brown Mechanical even more, but his first order of business is to “add to our growing team of technicians.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a severe impact on the plumbing and heating industry in the Okanagan, as there is now a shortage of qualified workers plying their trades in the valley. Lehr says many technicians were bumped into early retirement due to the pandemic, and now there are plenty of prime opportunities available.

And what better place would there be to work than Brown Mechanical, which services the entire Okanagan. It is based in Vernon, but it is seeking technicians for its Kelowna and Penticton service areas as well. It is a well-established business that will be around for a long time, which makes it attractive to technicians from across the country. Interested technicians can apply here.

Brown Mechanical’s being part of the Dahl Group of Companies only adds to its prominence in the Okanagan.

“It has longevity and stability,” Lehr says.

He adds that Brown Mechanical would provide technicians with a fast-paced work environment in an area that is growing rapidly and will have no shortage of jobs for the foreseeable future. The business services every type of dwelling, from residential to multi-family to commercial.

And really, is there a more beautiful part of Canada in which to work?

In the meantime, Brown Mechanical’s large group of technicians will continue to provide elite service in the Okanagan, whether it’s heating, air conditioning or plumbing.
