Fresh Trax teaches young people all about entrepreneurial skills

Time for Fresh Trax in life

If you are a young person who is already sick of the daily grind or simply wants to learn the real deal behind being an entrepreneur, Fresh Trax is here to help you make your mark in the business world.

The youth entrepreneurship program is seeking those between the ages of 15 and 29 who are interested in learning about building a business.

It’s a 16-week program from Community Futures North Okanagan that will put youth on the right path to better understand what it takes to start and plan for a future business.

Looking for more reasons to join Fresh Trax? How does a cool $500 a week for the duration of the program sound?

Participants do not need to start their own business once the program ends. It is simply to educate and provide the skills necessary for when they are ready to take the plunge and become a full-time entrepreneur.

Fresh Trax is a self-directed program that consists of two to four hours of virtual workshops each week with Community Futures business advisors. Ideally, participants will dedicate approximately 30 hours a week to write a business plan and complete the program.

This provincial and federal government-funded program offers one-to-one coaching or mentoring for each phase, a range of self-paced and virtual group learning opportunities with a small cohort, access to funding and connections for business development like accounting, legal, marketing services, and digital interactive business planning tools.

The next Fresh Trax cohort will begin on Nov. 22, so it is important to register now. For more information call Margo Fleming, Community Futures North Okanagan business services advisor, at 250-545-2215, ext 258.

Everyone and anyone between the ages of 15 and 29 should give Fresh Trax a go if they are ready for something new.

Funding for Fresh Trax is provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada–British Columbia Workforce Development Agreement.
