Wise Guys Car Wash opens up shop on Kirschner Road in Kelowna

The Wise family has been doing business in the Thompson Okanagan region for decades.

So it’s only fitting that it finally has a car wash in Kelowna.

Wise Guys Car Wash started making cars look new again just last week at 1984 Kirschner Rd., and the location features something that does not exist at any other local car wash.

“We’re the only car wash in town that has an express wash, a touchless and self-serve bays,” Wise Guys Car Wash owner Travis Wise says. “Nobody else has all three.”

There are Wise Guys Car Wash locations in Kamloops, Vernon and Penticton for years, and the time was finally right for the company to set up shop in Kelowna. Travis’ father, Grant Wise, started out in the industrial supply warehouse business with OK Welders Supplies, which provided materials for mines, mills, hospitals and the logging industry throughout southern B.C., with many customers in Kelowna, between 1950 and 1990. The family has since moved on to car washes, and industrial and commercial development.

In other words, the family knows what the public wants, and Travis says the newest Wise Guys Car Wash location is a shining example of that.

“We focus on quality of wash. Quality is everything,” Wise says. “We care about having lots of soap, lots of lubrication, the best quality soaps, the best quality equipment and really competent, smart employees that are well-trained and understand the difference between the washes and how things work.”

The three self-serve bays feature 12-feet-by-12-feet overhead doors, which means small motorhomes, cube vans, boats, trailers and campers can all get a good scrubbing.

The Kelowna location will offer the Wise Guys Wash Club, a monthly pass that will be unlike any other because members will be able to use either the touchless or express wash.

“Your husband might like using the touchless wash,” Wise says. “You might like using the express wash. Or vice versa.”

Wise Guys also has Mucky Mondays and Wise Guy Wednesdays, when patrons get $1 off any express or touchless wash. Those who aren't members of the Wash Club will get a free vacuum with any touchless or express wash purchase.

Wise Guys will always go the extra mile to make sure your ride looks the best it possibly can when it leaves the Kirschner location. Employees prepare vehicles before they enter the express wash, using special bug remover, high-pressure guns and specialized brushes to hit all the spots.

“We focus on areas that might be problematic in different vehicles for automatic washing,” Wise says. “Whatever it takes to make you come out shiny.”

Wise Guys Car Wash is open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
