Savoy Equipment has all your power equipment needs for 2021

Get moving to Savoy soon

If you know you need that one piece of equipment to get your yard ready for another summer, you would be wise not to wait.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created supplier shortages across the board for many items—outdoor power equipment among them. That is why it would be prudent to act quickly, because the 20-degree days are just around the corner.

“It’s all related to COVID, the high demand for raw materials, the inability to produce in different factories based on shutdowns and physical distancing protocols, and then there’s the global shipping issues as well,” Savoy Equipment marketing manager Ally Turner says. “It’s just created this perfect storm where it’s become harder to secure stock.

“If you have your eye on a product, start looking for it now. If you can find it, buy it. If not, get your name on a list.”

Savoy Equipment, with locations in Kelowna and Vernon, is still your best bet for outdoor power equipment sales and rentals in the Okanagan. It boasts all of the best brand names, and now it is expanding its offerings in battery-powered brands. In addition to Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo and Toro, Savoy Equipment will soon feature the battery line Ego, which is highly regarded and hasn’t been widely available in the valley—until now.

While most major brands have battery-powered products, Ego is exclusive to battery-powered equipment. Consumer Reports recently ranked Ego's blower at No. 1, and Savoy will also have their 42-inch battery-powered Z-turn available shortly. Savoy is expecting product to start arriving in April.

“The industry is just moving further and further in that direction,” Turner says.

As is typical for spring, Savoy’s service department is getting busy dealing with service, tune-ups and repairs. While the department does its best to turn around equipment as quickly as possible, COVID has impacted the availability of some parts, and just the sheer volume of service requests makes it difficult to complete the repair the same day or even in a few days. Savoy recommends you arrange for service as soon as possible to limit delays.

Savoy has made it easy to avoid the spring rush by booking a service appointment on its website, where you can also request to have your item picked up at your home or business. A service advisor will be in touch with you to make all the arrangements, and if it is a simple service request, you can continue to use your mower without losing your place in line. Savoy will contact you when it is ready for your equipment, resulting in a quick turnaround and less downtime.

For those who have items in the service department, Savoy continues to have a low cost loaner program available from as low as $10 a day, subject to availability.
