Last chance for Cadence

It’s now or never if you want to live in Cadence at The Lakes.

There are 13 lot and home packages left to sell in the Lake Country neighbourhood, which is a tight-knit community that has matured well over its first four phases. The 45-plus development is now in its fifth and final phase, so there is no time like the present.

“Cadence as a community is really quite mature now,” developer Kathleen Mackenzie says. “Once these last houses are built, the community’s finished. There have been lots of people living there for a long time, and it’s a great community, and if you don’t get in there now you’re not getting in.”

The part that makes Cadence unique is it boasts individual homes but in a simplified strata development. You won’t be sharing a wall with anyone, and you can jet away on vacation and not have to worry about getting someone to shovel your driveway or mow your lawn. “There’s just nothing else new available in the entire Okanagan like that,” Mackenzie says. “There are re-sale communities in Kelowna, but they’re older. Even though it’s an adult community, only one resident of a home is required to be 45 years old or more. All residents, however, must be at least 19 years old, although kids are always welcome to visit. Its Lake Country location also offers the best of both worlds; it feels like a small town yet isn’t too far away from bigger-city amenities in Kelowna or Vernon.

“You don’t have to participate in activities if you don’t want to, but there’s tons of things that the neighbours are doing together,” Mackenzie says. “There’s walking groups. There’s people that hike up Spion Kop (Lookout Hill), which is right behind us, on a regular basis.

“There’s book clubs. There’s lady lunches. There’s people that organize to go to theatre shows and movies. Then they have community pool parties and potlucks and that kind of thing.”

Since there are 13 properties left to sell, there are still opportunities for buyers to personalize their homes, which feature between two and five rooms, and come in a variety of floor plans. Full ownership of a single-family, detached home with a fully landscaped yard ranges from $572,900 to $826,900. All homes are built with top quality standards, materials and fixtures.

And since it is in Lake Country, there is no need to worry about the province’s speculation tax.
