The British Columbia Football Conference held its annual awards luncheon Sunday in Chilliwack. The conference major award winners were named as a follow up to the conference all stars that were released two weeks ago.

BCFC 2004 MAJOR AWARD WINNERS

• Coach of the Year Award - Jay Christensen – Okanagan Sun
• Outstanding Offensive Lineman - Chris Morrison – Okanagan Sun
• Outstanding Receiver - Lamaris Fisher – Vancouver Trojans
• Outstanding Offensive Back - Jeff Halvorson – Okanagan Sun
• Outstanding Defensive Lineman - Matt Lammerding – Okanagan Sun
• Outstanding Linebacker - Jon Klyne – Abbotsford Air Force
• Outstanding Defensive Back - Jeff Zelinski – Abbotsford Air Force
• Rookie of the Year - Aaron Broomfield – Tri-City Bulldogs
• Special Teams player of the year - James Green – Okanagan Sun– also 2003 winner
• Ron White Award (community service) - Duncan Acres - Okanagan Sun
• Outstanding Defensive Player - Jon Klyne – Abbotsford Air Force
• Outstanding Offensive Player - Jeff Halvorson – Okanagan Sun

The coach of the year, rookie of the year, special teams player of the year, and the outstanding offensive and defensive players of the year will be up for national awards at the CJFL banquet of Champions Dinner held Friday night, October 29, prior to Canadian Bowl. The Ron White winner will be eligible for the Commissioners Award at the dinner.
