The St. Louis Cardinals will send Woody Williams to the mound for Game 1 of the World Series. Williams, a right-handed pitcher, is 2-0 with a 2.84 earned-run average in the playoffs. The Kelowna Rockets have announced the acquisition of Penticton Native, Gary Sylvester. The Rockets obtained Sylvester from the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League in exchange for a 2005 Bantam Draft Pick. Sylvester was traded to Regina from the Tri-City Americans this past summer and was reassigned to the Surrey Eagles on September 30, 2004. Sylvester collected 16 points, and 224 penalty minutes during the 2003-2004 season with the BCHL’s Trail Smokeeaters. “Gary was available and we will have a look at him and see if we are able to work him into our line- up,” Commented Rockets President and General Manager, Bruce Hamilton.
