Lions training camp kicks off as rookies hit field at Hillside Stadium

BC Lions rookies were on the field Wednesday night at Hillside Stadium, the start of the Leos training camp. Their 2022 CFL regular season schedule begins on June 11.

A group of BC Lions rookies hit the gridiron at Hillside Stadium on Wednesday evening, marking the start of the CFL club’s Kamloops training camp.

Rookie camp began on Wednesday, with veteran players expected to report Saturday before hitting the field on Sunday.

Spectators are welcome at training camp. A full schedule, which is subject to change, can be found here.

BC Lions Fanfest is slated to take place on May 21.

The club has held preseason training camp in Kamloops since 2010, utilizing Hillside Stadium, the Tournament Capital Centre and Thompson Rivers University.

The Leos will remain in Kamloops until June 2. Their 2022 regular season gets underway on June 11, when the Edmonton Elks are slated to pay a visit to BC Place.
