Local golfers get chance to see what life on PGA Scramble tour could look like

A taste of the PGA tour

If you've ever dreamed of playing on the PGA golf tour, mark May 23 on your calendar.

The RBC PGA Scramble is coming to Shadow Ridge Golf Course in Kelowna.

The RBC PGA Scramble is a national series of events, with the winners of each local qualifier getting an invite to participate in one of eleven regional finals later this summer. Each regional winner will be awarded the chance to participate and win a National Championship at the prestigious Cabot Links Golf Course in Nova Scotia this fall.

Kelowna’s Black Mountain Golf Club will be hosting the BC East Regional final in August.

The tournament competition is open to teams of four eligible amateur golfers who have up-to-date Golf Canada handicaps and are 19 years of age and older.

Last year more than 10,000 golfers participated in 150 local qualifiers across the country. There will also be a spot in each regional final reserved for an all-female team.

Registration for the event closes on May 16 and there are a maximum of 36 teams consisting of 4 golfers per team. There will be another regional scramble held at Black Mountain Golf Club in August.
