New Westminster resident Shelby Clark is set to race her beautiful 1959 Elva Courier this weekend at the 32nd annual B.C. Historic Motor Races at the Mission Raceway Park road course.
The event is the largest vintage racing event in Western Canada and runs today through Sunday.
Clark will be competing against some 75 other vintage racers from B.C., Alberta and Washington state – including her own dad, in his 1968 Ford Cortina.
About 100 vintage and historic racing cars will be taking part. Classic German, British and American iron will be on the track, many with storied racing histories.
A large car display will be featured in the spectator area, and there will also be automobilia, artwork and automotive product booths.
