Owls in BC semi's

The KSS Owls used a big fourth quarter Thursday to move on to the the semi-finals at the BC AAAA Boys Basketball championships in Langley.

The Owls outscored Heritage Woods 23-12 over the final 10 minutes, erasing a four-point third quarter deficit, in an 84-77 victory.

Parker Johnstone again led the Owls attack with a game-high 30 points, four rebounds and four steals. Hunter Simson added 15 points and five steals.

The difference in the game was turnovers. The Owls scored 35 points off turnovers compared with 15 for Heritage Woods.

The Owls, ranked seventh coming into the provincials will now face number three ranked Terry Fox.

Terry Fox dispatched number six Oak Bay 100-66 Thursday.

The other semi featured Lord Tweedsmuir and Burnaby South.

Three other Okanagan schools have also moved into the semi-finals in their respective tournaments.

In the AAA championship, number two ranked Vernon defeated Rick Hanson 68-57. They face number six A.R. MacNeill in the semi's.

In the AA championship, number seven George Elliott upended D.P. Todd 91-74. They get number 11 St. Michaels Friday.

And, in the A championship, second ranked Kelowna Christian dumped Cedars Christian 77-43. They'll battle number three Highroad Academy in Friday's semi-final.

All four finals are set for Saturday evening.
