Serwa an Olympic nominee

Kelowna's own Kelsey Serwa is one of eight athletes nominated to represent Team Canada in ski cross at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang. 

Skiers were selected based on their performances during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 FIS World Cup seasons.

The athletes nominated are:


Chris Del Bosco Men’s ski Cross Montreal, Q.C.
Kevin Drury Men’s Ski Cross Toronto, O.N.
David Duncan Men’s Ski Cross London, O.N.
Brady Leman Men’s Ski Cross Calgary, A.B.
Brittany Phelan Women’s Ski Cross Mont-Tremblant, Q.C.
Kelsey Serwa Women’s Ski Cross Kelowna, BC
India Sherret Women’s Ski Cross Cranbrook, B.C.
Marielle Thompson Women’s Ski Cross Whistler, B.C.

Lake Country skier Ian Deans was named as the mens alternate. 

Three coaches were also named including Assistant Coach Sead Causevic from Vancouver, B.C. Head Coach Stanley Hayer from Kimberley, B.C. and Assistant Coach Primoz Vrhovnik Ljubljana from Slovenia.

“It’s an honour to compete for Canada at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games,” said Serwa.

“I stood on the podium in 2014 in Sochi and it was one of the proudest moments of my life to win an Olympic medal for Canada. Over the last four years, I’ve continued to pursue my goal of competing for Canada once again at the Games,” she added.
