Family of Nicole Bell still waiting for answers on the Sicamous woman's disappearance

'We need closure'

Christmas is a time for families to come together, but for Jane Aubertin it is a sad reminder of the empty spot in her heart.

More than five years ago, her daughter Nicole Bell went missing.

“Our family wants this year to be the Christmas for her to come home,” Aubertin said.

“Please, if you have any information on her whereabouts, please call your local RCMP or CrimeStoppers. We love and miss her with all our heart. We need closure.”

Every time the phone rings, Aubertin wonders if this is the call she has been waiting for over the past five years.

Aubertin said police are still actively looking for Bell, and she implores anyone with information to come forward.

“Please, let us know where she is. If you know what happened to her, please come forward,” Aubertin said. “We need to know, her kids need to know, we need to move on.”

Bell was reported missing from the Sicamous area Sept. 7, 2017.

The mother of three has not been seen or heard from since.

Also missing from the North Okanagan-Shuswap area are Deanne Wertz and Caitlin Potts.

The remains of Ashley Simpson were located one year ago.

Derek Lee Matthew Favell is facing one count of second-degree murder, accused of killing Simpson at or near Salmon Arm on April 27, 2016.

Vernon teen Traci Genereaux was last heard from on May 29, 2017.

The remains of the 18 year old were located on a farm on Salmon River Road following an extensive police investigation.

Police called her death suspicious, but no charges have been filed in the case.
