Sicamous mobile home park given all clear in wake of heavy rains and landslide threat

Residents of Sicamous Creek Mobile Home Park have been given the all clear by officials – again.

An evacuation alert was issued July 3 by the District of Sicamous due to “the potential danger to life, health and property caused by the threat of a landslide in the Wiseman Creek area” as heavy rains fell on the region.

It was the fourth evacuation alert issued for the mobile home park since May in the wake of last summer's wildfire in the hills above the homes.

Officials are concerned about mudslides and debris fields coming down the creek that flows through the mobile home park, due to last summer's fire.
