What better way to celebrate Heritage Week than via a "living" museum?
Salmon Arm's R.J. Haney Heritage Village & Museum is celebrating Heritage Week Feb. 21-26 with an online auction.
There are more than 100 items to bid on, from gift certificates to spa services, entertainment, food and beverage, business services, gift baskets, pet care, clothing, artwork, and more.
Located on the east side of Salmon Arm at 751 Highway 97 B, the village is the Shuswap's largest heritage destination.
Set on 40 acres, the site comprises 24 buildings that are either replicas or originals and more than 30 exhibits, including the original 1910 Haney House.
This year's Heritage Week theme is "Altogether Inclusive. We work best when we work together."
For decades, many Secwépemc First Peoples supported settlers in projects that had a positive environmental impact, the museum says.
Discover the history and stories that have shaped the community through online activities, including the On This Spot app, which takes you on guided walking tours of Salmon Arm's history, a Heritage Week scavenger hunt, and colouring contest.
There will also be Heritage Week displays at the Mall at Piccadilly. While there, you can enter to win the Whatzit contest by finding hidden artifacts throughout the mall.
Register for the auction here or find more information on the R.J. Haney website.
