IH declares COVID outbreak at Salmon Arm long-term care facility

Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at a Salmon Arm long-term care facility.

IH listed Mount Ida Mews on its website with an outbreak as of Tuesday.

The number of cases is unknown, but the outbreak is limited to the Chinook and Coho units.

The facility is operated by AgeCare and has 132 suites.

Earlier this month, IH listed two outbreaks at Vernon seniors homes.

Those are on the long-term care floors of The Hamlets in downtown Vernon and at Heritage Square on 27th Street.

Those outbreaks were declared on Jan. 9 and 11, respectively.
