Bring your best chili
Get ready to make your best chili for a taste-off that will raise money for flood relief.
The Salmon Arm Rotary Club is hosting a Chili Taste Off and roasting chestnuts for B.C. flood relief.
The club is partnering with Downtown Salmon Arm to bring a tasty fundraiser to the Holiday Market.
The event will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ross Street Plaza and Hudson Street.
People can purchase a chili taste passport for $15 that will take them to five downtown locations, including Hanoi 36, The Barley Station, Shuswap Pie CO., The Pink Cherry, and Grillers Meats.
The passport will get you a taste-size portion at each location.
Tickets are $15 each or two for $25 and will be available at the Rotary tent on Saturday.
The club will also be roasting chestnuts and will have them available by donation.
All proceeds will go to flood relief.
So far, the Salmon Arm Rotary Club has provided $1,700 in gift cards to Shuswap Emergency Support Services to give to flood evacuees who have come to Salmon Arm for refuge.
