Highway 97B reopens south of Canoe in wake of serious collision

DriveBC reports a serious crash that closed Highway 97B south of Canoe has now been cleared.

ORIGINAL: 10:05 a.m.

A serious collision has closed Highway 97B south of Canoe.

A minivan and sedan have collided near Black Road, south of the Salmon Arm Golf Club.

There is heavy damage to both vehicles.

Police and paramedics are on scene, and traffic appears to be blocked in both directions.

Roads in the area are snow slicked and slippery.

DriveBC reports a "major vehicle incident south of Salmon Arm" and says an assessment is in progress.
