Sicamous RCMP locate missing high-risk senior safe and sound

Missing senior found safe

Sicamous RCMP is reporting that the missing senior has returned home safe and sound.

"First responders are presently assessing his overall condition, but early information suggests he is well," says Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, media relations officer for the BC RCMP Southeast District.

The RCMP would like to thank the public and search and rescue for their assistance.

A Sicamous senior has gone missing, and police are asking the public for help.

The 84-year-old senior was last seen Dec. 1 about 11 a.m. when he walked away from his home on Shuswap Avenue in Sicamous.

"He suffers from a medical condition, which makes him appear confused or lost," says Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, media relations officer for the BC RCMP Southeast District. "As such, police are very concerned for his health and well-being, and that concern is heightened by the current cold temperatures in the Sicamous area."

He is described as Caucasian, with balding white hair and blue eyes, standing five feet five inches tall and weighing 161 pounds. He was last seen wearing a navy blue coat and beige pants.

Sicamous RCMP are utilizing the help of local search and rescue crews in a ground search.
