To go along with the heat warning that's been in effect for much of the southern part of the Interior, parts of central and southern B.C. now also have a storm watch in place.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for eight regions, from the McGregor and Yellowhead in the north, along the eastern border of the province, south to the North Thompson and Shuswap, including the Cariboo.
"Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain," states the government agency online.
They warn that the wind may damage property, and that lightning can kill.
