Thanks to Omar Schau, we can get a glimpse of fishing around Shuswap Lake circa the late 1940s.
A video has been uploaded on YouTube, showing what a fishing trip to the lake looked like over 70 years ago.
The footage, which has had music and sound effects added, shows a series of clips. They range from people in the lake with fishing poles and nets, to fishing from a boat.
It seems to have been a successful trip. The men are seen with dozens of fish. Some show off some favourites, still wriggling.
The channel, Omar Schau/Film Library, has a series of videos about Schau's travels throughout the American northwest and B.C.
