2 men in Salmon Arm rob house at knifepoint & tied up the victims

House robbed at knifepoint

Two suspects robbed a house at knifepoint in Salmon Arm early Saturday morning and are still at large.

Shortly after 8 a.m., RCMP were called to a residence in the 1200 block of 30 Street SW and learned that the two men forced their way into the house with a knife while two of the residents were inside.

"Once inside the suspects searched the house and allegedly took cash, debit bank cards, a lap top computer, a tablet and keys to the homeowner’s red Ford Taurus," states S/Sgt. Scott West, Detachment Commander for the Salmon Arm RCMP. "The residents provided access pin codes to the armed suspects after being threatened."

The victims were tied up when the men left, but they were able to free themselves and called 911 from a neighbour's house.

The Taurus has been recovered, and RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Services will examine the vehicle for any signs of evidence.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5'8" to 6' tall with a slender build, approximately 40 years of age and was seen wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, a pair of light coloured shorts and a light coloured baseball cap.

The second is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5'8" to 6' tall with a slender build, approximately 40 years of age and was seen wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, and a pair of blue jeans.

The police encourage anyone with information regarding this incident to call the Salmon Arm RCMP detachment at 250-832-6044, or you can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
