'2 hippie gals' are taking requests as they paint their way across BC

2 hippie gals painting away

A pair of 'hippie gals' are making their way across the province while painting works of art, and they are currently taking requests from people in the Okanagan.

Shalagh Quinn and Amy Wu are looking to spread happiness and positivity through their art to the people of B.C.

"Considering all of the heavy stuff that is happening in the world right now, we thought this would bring a bit of light to people," says Shalagh. "We were making a trip across B.C. anyway so we thought this would be a fun project to do."

Since Shalagh made a post on social media about the project, the pair has received quite a few requests from citizens of Salmon Arm to come paint for them.

"We're currently in Salmon Arm right now and we've a lot of requests from people, we didn't even plan on staying in Salmon Arm for this long," says Shalagh. "We found a nice little campsite so I think we'll stick around for a bit and have some fun and paint."

The girls are making their way through the province and plan to end up on Vancouver Island, and will be painting their artwork as they go along. They will be going through the Okanagan on their way to the Lower Mainland over the next little while.

"We will paint pretty much anything we can get our hands on, but ideally we would like it to be at least eight feet by four feet so that you can see the work from a distance," says Amy. "We actually have more painting supplies in our car than camping supplies so we are ready to go."

If you would like the pair to paint something of yours, you can send Shalagh a private message on Facebook with a picture of the space you would like painted.
