Salmon Arm RCMP release pictures of trailer theft suspects

Police are looking for two women suspected of stealing a tent trailer earlier this week.

Salmon Arm RCMP have released pictures of pair of suspected trailer thieves.

On Tuesday, police reported a stolen 2016 Jayco tent trailer had come free from a black truck and smashed into a tree.

“The driver of the truck, which had been towing the trailer, failed to remain at the scene and fled the area,” said Staff Sgt. Scott West, adding the truck was described to police as a smaller black pickup truck. The driver of the truck was believed to be a female.

It was determined the trailer was taken from a Shuswap-area storage facility.

Police reviewed video surveillance footage in an effort to determine who may have stolen the trailer.

RCMP have now released images of the two female suspects and vehicle, which is now confirmed to be an older model Toyota pickup.

Anyone with information on the alleged theft is urged to contact their local RCMP.
