Suspect involved in multiple break-ins arrested in Salmon Arm

Burglar arrested at car wash

At about 4:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, Salmon Arm RCMP were called to a business on 10th Ave SW when an alarm was set off.

As police were arriving on the scene, they spotted a red Dodge pickup truck leaving the area. The suspect tried to hide the truck behind a car wash that was nearby.

The truck was found by the police, and the suspect was arrested. The suspect is a 40-year-old man from Salmon Arm, and he was found with stolen power tools in the box of his truck and a damaged safe in the back seat.

"Further investigation revealed that there were other stolen items in the truck," says Sgt. Scott West, media spokesperson for the Salmon Arm RCMP. "Some of the items located were connected back to another break and enter in Salmon Arm which occurred the previous night."

The man was held in custody, and released later that day. He will face break and enter charges, as well as possession of stolen property charges.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044.
