Salmon Arm businesses giving away another vehicle for Christmas

Braby Motors, Fix Auto, Kal Tire and Salmon Arm Saving & Credit Union teaming up for second Annual Christmas Car Giveaway.

Just in time for Christmas, one deserving family will receive a new-to-them vehicle.

Braby Motors, Fix Auto, Kal Tire and Salmon Arm Saving & Credit Union are once again teaming up for the second Annual Christmas Car Giveaway.

Justin Braby said the giveaway was such a huge success last year, they decided to do it again.

This year, the Shuswap car company is giving away a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Braby said they are currently looking for nominations, which will be accepted until noon Dec. 13.

“We are looking for friends or family members to nominate a family. They can tell their story and that sort of thing,” said Braby, adding the nominations should be 400 words or less explaining how big an impact having a reliable vehicle would have.

Last year there were more more than 90 submissions.

“The hardest part is deciding who deserves it because there is so much need,” he said. “It's a hard thing to do.”
Kal Tire will do a safety inspection and any needed repairs on the vehicle. The recipient will also get $1,500 to help with insurance.

“We will also be providing fuel cards for the family,” Braby said.

The draw will made Dec. 20.
