UPDATE: 12:45 p.m.

A small fire that was sparked on Wednesday was burning close to structures, but BC Wildfire Service says no homes were damaged in the blaze.

The fire was burning west of Owlhead Creek at 0.20 hectares in size and many onlookers stopped to film crews dropping fire retardant on the blaze.

Fire information officer Taylor MacDonald says three BC Wildfire Service personnel and air tankers attended to assist the Sicamous Volunteer Fire Department.

“Three BC Wildfire Service personnel are attending the incident today to assist again,” said MacDonald.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway but it is suspect to be human-caused.
