Targeted attempted shooting

Shots were fired at a Salmon Arm apartment building early Wednesday morning.

The Salmon Arm RCMP are currently investigating an incident where unknown suspects discharged a firearm just after 2 a.m.

Salmon Arm RCMP were called to a complaint of shots fired at the building on 1 Avenue SW.

When police arrived officers confirmed that multiple shots had been fired at an apartment unit.

Bullets hit the outside wall and went through a window.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Two people were seen leaving the area in a light coloured compact vehicle

Investigators have spoken to a man who was believed to be the intended target of the two individuals who allegedly discharged the firearm into his residence.

Police believe this to be a targeted event related to the local drug trade and have made this investigation a local priority.
