Shuswap residents lost their home and everything in it on Boxing Day.
Cpl. Scott Linklater of the Chase RCMP says firefighters and police responded to the structure fire at 8784 Squilax Anglemont Rd. about 8:30 a.m. in the tiny community of St. Ives.
Celista and Anglemont volunteer firefighters arrived to find the home had been lost to fire and a detached garage was still burning.
The fire was extinguished, but not before the loss of the garage and two vehicles as well.
Linklater says the homeowners were out of the community for the holidays when the fire started.
No one was injured in the blaze, and its cause is not yet known but is considered non-suspicious.
