Accidents keep crews busy

Emergency crews in Salmon Arm were kept busy Wednesday with a pair of accidents.

Salmon Arm RCMP attended a collision between an SUV and a tractor trailer unit on the Trans Canada Highway at approximately 10 a.m.

“A sport utility vehicle was turning from McLeod Street to go west on the TCH when a tractor trailer was traveling westbound. The SUV ran into the rear of the trailer of the highway truck causing damage to both vehicles. No injuries were sustained that required a trip to the hospital from the scene,” said Staff Sgt. Scott West.

Police were also called to a three-vehicle collision on the Trans Canada Highway at 4th Street NE. “Witnesses reported that a Ford truck was attempting to cross the highway on 4th Street NE south bound and did so in front of an eastbound SUV,” said West.

“A collision between these two vehicles occurred and as a result of the collision the Ford truck then impacted a third vehicle which was stopped in a turning lane at the intersection of 4th and the TCH.”

Two of the occupants of one vehicle were transported to hospital for statement of minor injuries.
