Shuswap Lake drowning

RCMP divers have recovered the body of a 37-year-old Surrey man from Shuswap Lake.

Salmon Arm RCMP members were called to a local campground on Sunday where the man, who was vacationing in the area, had gone missing while in the lake within a designated swimming area.

“Our local Salmon Arm Search and Rescue team was called in to conduct a shore search as the Salmon Arm RCMP maintained a presence at the location overnight,” said Staff Sgt. Scott West, head of the Salmon Arm detachment. "On July 3 (Monday), the RCMP Southeast District Underwater Recovery Team attended early in the morning and recovered the male from Shuswap Lake.”

West expressed his condolences to the victim's family and released no further information.
