Heartbreak for Naude

Heartbreak for Penticton's Andi Naude at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Naude, a medal favourite in the women's moguls competition, skied off the course in her final run and finished sixth.

She was 10th after the first of three runs in the final, and led all skiers after the second run with 78.78 points.

However, in the final run, Naude carried too much speed off the first jump. She fought to keep her momentum going downhill, but was unable to.

After just missing out on a chance to represent Canada at the Olympics in Sochi in 2014, Naudi said she was heartbroken then, "but I promised myself that I would be going to the next Olympic Games."

Her teammate, Justine Dufour-Lapointe, the defending Olympic champion, captured the silver medal.

It was Canada's fourth medal on day two of competition in PyeongChang.

Canada has three silvers and a bronze.
