Poll: Should Cons Get To Vote?
Federal inmates will be casting ballots behind bars in the upcoming election. Elections Canada has laid out a new process to have prisons double as polling stations in the wake of a 2002 Supreme Court ruling that said denying inmates a vote violated their constitutional rights. The judgment threw out an Elections Act provision that barred convicted criminals -- including serial killers, rapists and robbers -- the right to help choose the next government.
