With recent concerns over abandoned houseboats in Kelowna near Rattlesnake Island, the owner of the property has stepped forward to tackle the issue.
West Kelowna resident Rick Mervyn owns the portion of land where two houseboats have been sitting and decomposing for years.
According to Mervyn, the owner of the wooden houseboat is a known criminal who is currently incarcerated, which is why the boat sits abandoned.
