Representatives with the proposed South Okanagan-Similkameen National Park say the online consultation tool rolled out earlier this week is key for the public to have their voices heard, since aside from meetings with larger interest groups, it will be the main way they gather public opinions for the planning process.
Kevin McNamee, director of the Protected Areas Establishment branch of Parks Canada, said Wednesday that the online survey is not a referendum or vote on the idea of establishing a park, but a way to engage the public in decisions moving forward.
