Penticton Council is expected to make a decision on the date of the city's by-election at tonight's (Tuesday) meeting.
Acting Mayor Garry Litke said they have three different options to look at for the by-election. Those dates are Sept. 7, Sept. 28 and Oct. 19., with the first being the earliest date possible.
The proposed road name change from Westminster Ave. E. to Backstreet Boulevard will be another agenda highlight.
According to Litke, the street name change was approved by council at a prior meeting, but there was an error in the process.
"The council made the decision based on inadequate information about the bylaw and we had to rescind it and start over,''he said.
There will be an opportunity for further discussion on the matter at the meeting.
An update on Challenge Penticton will be provided at the meeting.
There will also be discussion on temporary public washroom facilities in the downtown, a local area improvement bylaw at Westminster Ave. W. and Martin, development variance permits for 1164 Queen Street and 666 Nanaimo Ave. E. and the 2012 annual report and multi-media presentation
