Fire destroys Oliver home

A fire in Oliver left a family homeless on Father's Day.

Firefighters were called to the rural home on River Road (99th Street) at 3 a.m. on June 19 , says Oliver Fire Department Public Relations  Officer Spencer Tribbick.

"It was fully involved by the time we got there," says Tribbick.

While Tribbick says the structure is a total loss, the occupants of the home made it out safely.

"It sounds like the smoke detector alerted them to the fire."

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
