Video update: Osoyoos business fire

Updated report from Castanet's Kelly Hayes

Raw Video by Ken Myrberg

A fire in Osoyoos on Sunday has destroyed several businesses and threatened others.

Eyewitness Grant Isaak say a thrift store and dollar store in the 8500 block of Main Street were engulfed in flame.

"The fire crews are working hard at saving the CIBC and adjacent buildings," says Isaak.

It appears the bank and other buildings will be saved, says Isaak.

Reinforcements have been called in from neighbouring communities, says Oliver Fire Department Public Relations Spencer Tribbick.

One truck and five members from Oliver are already on scene and more are on the way.

"We're at the spring training seminar in Grand Forks right now. We've already packed up our stuff and we're heading back over there to give whatever aid is needed," says Tribbick

"It's big enough to have us heading back home."

No one is believed to have been injured in the blaze.
